New ritual: dad gets Isla from the crib every morning for some extra snuggle time

Isla is loving those trees

This week has been simple, and yet rich. I refer to our amazing daughter as "Twister," not because she wreaks havoc on our home, although I am sure at one point she will, but because she is literally always twisting. Now that she can roll, she is obsessed with this action. She cannot sustain her fix, seriously! She tries to twist from her back onto her stomach at all times. She is a willful little babe. What is super cute is that she is also getting to know her body a bit more this week. She clasps her hands together, and boy is that cute, as she begins to draw her knees toward her chest in the first motions to then turn onto her belly. She is really working those abs! Once on that belly she works so, so hard to move forward. She now spins 360 degrees on her belly as she works to crawl. Nico is loving this. Nico watches her intently, as she is now right at her eye level, and as if she is trying to will Isla to crawl. "Move forward little babe," she meditates. It is lovely to watch. What a joy! We can also make her smile & laugh now, which is so fun. She has an amazing laugh and sometimes throws in a chuckle. (See video of her laughing.) Her smile is huge, open mouthed and precious. She is our little Twister.
